Abstract
This report presents the state of China’s road transport development in 2024， documents the industry’s trajectory， inventories its landmark events， and showcases its achievements. Organized from three perspectives—an overview of the sector， the performance of each sub-sector， and the year’s focal issues—the report is divided into three parts comprising fifteen chapters. It covers the 2024 road-transport industry review and operating environment， and details developments in road passenger transport， road freight transport， road-transport-related services， and international road transport involving China， Hong Kong and Macao. The report also examines progress in key areas such as supporting the implementation of national strategies， cutting logistics costs while improving quality and efficiency， integrating urban–rural transport services， promoting high-quality development of transport services， enhancing user-friendly， inclusive and beneficial services， deepening international road-transport cooperation， advancing green and low-carbon transport development， ensuring safe and sustainable industry growth， and strengthening sector governance.
