2023空间艺术季作为中华人民共和国自然资源部与上海市人民政府合作协议项目，以“共栖”为主题，全市20个展区通过“多空间、多场景、多维度”，聚焦“人与自然和谐共生”的城市发展理念，共同演绎“生命共同体”。本届艺术季通过1个主题演绎展、6个重点样本展和13个实践案例展，共同展现了《上海市城市总体规划（2017—2035）》确定的“生态之城”理念，呈现了上海以先进的生态发展理念和生态技术方法推进生态网络建设，打造高品质生态空间，促进城市天蓝、水绿和可持续发展，满足市民美好生活的努力和探索。全书分为两册，第一册为主题演绎展，呈现了位于徐汇西岸南段，龙耀路至淀浦河5公里滨江地区的公共艺术展品、空间艺术展品和室内展览，详细介绍了本届艺术季的理念、思路、方法和行动。第二册为重点样本展和实践案例展，介绍全市其他19个展区的情况。

本书编委会由上海市城市规划设计研究院、2023上海城市空间艺术季策展团队、群岛ARCHIPELAGO等共同组成。团队成员由国内外专业造诣高、工作经验丰富且有影响力的专家组成，涉及城市规划、建筑学、景观学、公共艺术、策展、传播学、社会学、出版等领域，自2015年首届空间艺术季成立以来，旨在保障活动的专业性、国际性，融汇各行业经验，为空间艺术季的相关工作提供专业指导。
