◎序言(引言/导言/出版后记/编辑手记/跋)
Introduction
The world is a garden of diverse civilizations. Diversity spurs interaction among civilizations, which in turn promotes mutual learning and their further development.
As a major project implemented by the China News Service, a state news agency, the “W.E. Talk Comics” book series illustrates the similarities and differences between the East and the West in different aspects. Through the conversations between Mr. Kong and young Marco Polo, two cartoon figures, it tries to demonstrate humanity’s profound wisdom, rich emotions, and aspirations for a better life.
This volume, with a focus on the civilizational exchanges since ancient times, presents such highlights as the cooperation between Eastern and Western museums, major cultural events, and the progress in the Belt and Road cooperation.
We hope that these comics will help promote mutual understanding among civilizations.
